Maura Healey is elected governor.

Healey (D) defeats Geoff Diehl (B) to become the first woman elected governor of Massachusetts and the first openly lesbian governor in the U.S. when she is inaugurated on January 5, 2023. In Boston, Healey receives 144,653 votes to 30,946 for Diehl.
